City of Poughkeepsie resident Rackish Salmon, 35, was taken into custody by the Dutchess County Task Force on Friday, Aug. 23, following the execution of a search warrant of his South Cherry Street home.

Investigators said that the warrant came as a result of an investigation into drug sales that were taking place at Salmon’s home and in surrounding neighborhoods. While searching Salmon’s residence, they recovered 20 grams of heroin and cocaine, $3,000 in cash, scales and packaging materials.

Salmon was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony. He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. Police noted that Salmon may face additional charges. Check Daily Voice for updates.
